About Me

My photo
Welcome to our family blog. We created this blog so that our family here and in Egypt can share with us in the joy of having Jacob in our lives. It's very hard for us to have family so far away and we want them to see Jacob grow and know him well. We miss them all and can't wait to see you very soon. Enjoy!

Stone mountain Christmas

We took Jacob to Stone Mountain to celebrate the lights.....and we camped....not just one night but two. Uncle Rob and Aunt Mimi(Amanda's new name)came up and stayed a night too. It really was fun. Thank God we had heat in the camper coz it was C-O-L-D!Jacob enjoyed it so much that suffering the cold was actually enjoyable.

Jacob's 2nd Birthday

Jacob's trip to the zoo!

We took Jacob to the zoo for his birthday. I have a lot more pictures, but we just bought our very first house and I am swamped right now. After we get settled I will sit down and add those pictures for you all to see. He had a wonderful time. We are having his official birthday today with friends and family. I'll post again soon.

Jacob is ready for Ms. Collen's. I tried forever to get him to wear his Cars backpack, but he hated it. Then one day he just started wearing it. We are getting him an Elmo backpack for his birthday.

Here's my little lion. Last night he chased his daddy around the house in nothing but his lion towel. Growling!!!!!!!

TV time with Daddy

I'm not real sure how this happened. Jacob doesn't watch TV, but I was in the middle of Project Runway when he decided to change the channels. It ended up on Sponge Bob Square pants - go figure. Anyway, he called for his Daddy and patted the floor next to him to instruct Ashraf where to sit. It was just the sweetest thing. He looked over at his Daddy, smiled the biggest grin and then turned to watch TV. This lasted a total of 1 min and he was bored and ran out of the room leaving Daddy and Sponge Bob all alone.

Manville's picnic

We spent Saturday at Fort Yargo state park where Poppa's work had a picnic. Jacob enjoyed being out of the house and running through the woods (Nona in tow). He also fit right in the with the Manville crew. As the man started to call out Bingo numbers Jacob decided to help by repeating every sound the man made. I had no idea Bingo players were so serious. I don't think they were too thrilled with the small echo. Anyway, Jacob loved being with his favorite person and I tried to take some pictures. Enjoy!

Rock Band with Uncle Rob

We celebrated Uncle Rob's birthday on Saturday. Everyone chipped in and his friend Jonathon bought him Rock Band. Rob never left the TV. It was wonderful to see him have such a good time. Jacob enjoyed his time with Audra. He loved on her every second he got. A real ladies man.

Children's museum

Jacob finally was able to visit the Children's museum. We went today with a friend of mine. He loved every minute of it. I think his favorite part was the water exploring. He even tried to climb into the tank. Good thing I brought a change of clothes.

We went to Stephanie and Chris' house on Saturday. Chris cooked out hot dogs and hamburgers. They were sooooooo yummy. Jacob played in the Poooooo and Stef and I jumped in for a little while. We had a really good time, but due to nap time we couldn't stay long. Thanks Stef and Chris!!!!!

VBS

Well, VBS is coming to a close tonight. I was the older children's teacher, hmmmm! Jacob really enjoyed the music end, but really didn't like being left by Mommy and Nona. I think he wanted free run of the church. Here is a few pictures. Jacob is going through this stage where he doesn't want his picture taken. If he sees the camera his bottom lip comes out and he shouts at me. Oh well!

4th of July bash @ the Ga Aquarium

Uncle Rob inside with the fishes.

Our very first trip to the aquarium and it was on the 4th of July. Are we crazy? Maybe a little, but we had good reason. Uncle Rob, Pill(Phil), Ms. Kathy, and Mr. Davis all jumped in with the whale sharks and swam. Jacob loved every minute of it and didn't even have a nap all day. Ashraf had never even seen most of these animals so it was precious to watch him and Jacob see them for the 1st time. After the "dive"we headed to Rob and Amanda's for a feast......hot dogs and hamburgers galore. YUM!

Garden City Beach, SC

We made it back from the beach in one piece. It was a wonderful trip and very much needed by all of us. Jacob was a tad nervous at first with the ocean but by the end of the week he would walk right up to the edge and play. The sand became his friend and he spent most of his days building dream castles. Most of his fun was spent playing with his "boy" cousins. He was so thrilled to be around them even if they were doing nothing.

Here he is piled high on top of his buddies. Poor Cole got the raw end of the deal...bottom.

In the midst of building those castles.

More Mommy and Me classes

Well, we're doing much better in our swim class. There's no more crying or begging to get out. Now, when I start counting to 3 he starts holding his breathe. I think he even likes to go. We are off to the beach this week.....we'll see how he does with the ocean.

Big boy now...

Last night Jacob needed a stepping stool to brush his teeth. I can't believe how he has grown. It makes me sad, but also so proud of how independent he wants to be. Now if we can just tackle this potty training stuff.

Father's Day

We spent Father's day at home this year. Uncle Rob and Aunt Amanda came and splashed around with me. He sure is funny. Uncle Rob's friend came and brought his family. I made some new friends and boy was I excited. Isn't she pretty?
Now I am loving the pool. I ask Mommy everyday if we can go to the pooooool? I really trust my Nona most when I am swimming. She protects me.

Happy Father's Day Ghedo! I miss you and wish to see you soon. Love Jacob
