Soccer

Last week was the start of the soccer season for Jacob. He loved it! Ashraf and I were so excited to see him in his "uniform" and on the field. The kids are so small, but it is adorable to watch.

Toasty

Meet Toasty. This sweet and beautiful rooster found its way to our front porch last week. He was so friendly and Jacob adored him. Noni on the other hand did not. We had to find Toasty a new home. He sure is missed.

Uncle Rob's birthday 2010.....we are late uploading pictures due to a mean virus that attacked our computer this summer. Yay! We finally got it back this weekend.

Happy Independence Day!

Ormond Beach, FL

We ended up in Florida this year because it was sooo much cheaper than South Carolina.It was strange at first without the rest of the "family", but it was fun. It was beautiful there with the most amazing blue water. It felt tropical. We took the kids to Magic Kingdom for the day - 12 hours of fun! I wish I was back on the beach.

Ellen's birthday

We celebrated Ellen turning 14 on Sunday. Jacob went swimming and even rode around on a four-wheeler with his cousins. Jacob sure does love his cousins. Happy Birthday Ellen.

Growing up....

Wow, sometimes it really hits me how much Jacob is growing. I feel like he is so much closer to thirteen than four. Tonight we were leaving to grab a bite to eat with my Mom and he opened the car, jumped in the driver's side, and said, "Hand me the keys Mom so I can get it started." Everytime he does something like that my heart pounds. I just know he is going to grow up and leave me. All little boys eventually leave their Moms..

Jacob and Bryce

Bryce came to visit and we took the opportunity to have the "cousin" pictures made. Jacob loved every minute of it. He is in love with Bryce.

6 years and counting

Ashraf and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary this weekend. We stayed at this amazing hotel and relaxed!

Jacob and Blessed's Day Out

My very best friend, Falaunda, and I took Jacob and her niece and specil little girl out for a day of fun recently. We stopped at Chuck-E-Cheese first to eat pizza and play games. Then we went to Build-A-Bear. Jacob made a tiger for himself and he also wanted to make Bryce a "baby bear" just like he has. So, we made Bryce a bear too. Blessed made a pink bear named, Princess.

Cousins!

Last weekend my cousin, Heather, came to stay and brought her children. Watching them play was like reliving my days as a child playing with Heather and Rob in the backyard. They played from sun up to sun down. They were exhausted by Sunday. It was wonderful and I wish, as always, that they lived closer.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was today and it was such a sweet time with Jacob. Yesterday he painted his Noni a painting. He did such a wonderful job and really concentrated on what he was making. Today we had lunch and spent time at Dacula park. I told him he didn't need me anymore because he was so big and did everthing on his own and he said, "I need you mommy." He told me my job was to give him lots of hugs and kisses.

Summer Summer Time

Summer time is around the corner and Jacob is ready. He loves watermelon as much as me, which is funny since it is ALL I ate when I was pregnant. He is all boy!

Camping trip

Jacob went camping a few weeks ago with his Noni and Poppi. They went to Indian Springs and he actually stayed away all weekend. I missed him terribly. He had a blast!

This story is heartbreaking - we need to do something and fast!

We had a full house for Easter. Heather and John came down from Alabama with the kids and we celebrated Easter together. Jacob had the time of his life with skylar. They played from dawn to dusk every day. It was just like when I was growing up. I wish they lived closer so it can happen every weekend.
